In case you haven’t noticed (Ha!) I haven’t done much (anything) with INATN recently. During my previous job when I was temping after getting laid off, I had lots of free time (and unfettered internet access) and was able to build up the site to what it is now. Now that I’m back at a full-time job, I don’t have quite as much time, and even if I did, out network and PCs are buckled down tight making website maintenance difficult. And as many of you know, after working all day, when you get home to your spouse and kids, soccer practice, Cub Scouts, etc., spending more time in front of the computer coding is not tops on my list of things to do.
The site is in Maintenance Mode, meaning that I will do what needs to be done to keep it operational, making adjustments if the PQ format changes, rebooting the server every now and then to keep things running smoothly, etc., but don’t expect to see much in the way of new features.
I know people love the stats, and especially the county maps, so I have no intention of shutting things down, but I probably won’t be very responsive to feature requests or other questions. If things go south, somehow I always manage to find out and usually it’s just a server reboot that makes it all better. If everybody suddenly can’t get things to work right, I’ll take a closer look.
Otherwise, thank you to everyone who has supported the site, either by donations or just passing along a good word.
-Dave

I’ve been having trouble getting the site to accept my latest MyFinds zip file. It accepts the file as downloaded from geocaching.com then spits out nonsense numbers. Hate to be a bother but . . . Thanks.
groundspeak actually changed the PQ format today, then reverted some of the changes. see:
http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=232202
Good timing on this… since I seem to be caught in this format change for now, too. Oh well.
If it wouldn’t be much trouble, it would be nice to see the Top Ten lists updated once a month. I realize that it’s a drain on the server, but just displaying shouldn’t be too bad. I LOVE THE TOP 10 LISTS!!!!!!!!!!! I MISS THEM!!!!!!!!
I have noticed that my current streak (geocacher kietc) is no longer accurate. It stops at 9/9/2009, and I have doubled checked it with my profile on geocaching.com. My current streak based upon my last upload should be 746 days. Thanks for the great service.
I don’t have any specific requests; I just wanted to say, “Thank you.” My Girl Scout, two Cub Scouts, and Daisy really enjoy watching the map images change as we cache in more counties and states.
Great! IANTN is accepting again my PQ as I was not able to upload it since about 2-3 months. My PQ Zip file size of 8.5Mb was probably a limitation issue but now it upload without any error!
Your D/T table is a must for many Fizzy Challenge contenders.
Having the possibility of comparing finds with other cachers is also an excellent and original plus value of your well thought system.
Très bon travail! Merci!
Is the Uncalculated function working? I’ve had 2 uncalculated caches for almost a week now. They are usually calculated within hours. My GC name is C3GPS
Thanks. I love the site!
Hi Dave,
Is the “All Counties with Finds Uncalculated” feature working? It doesn’t seem to have recalculated mine since before 11/9/09. I’ve submitted 3 PQ’s and none of the new caches for counties in California have been recalculated (total of 8 caches so far). For diagnostic details, my GC Username is KCSearcher, GC Geocaching ID is 601549, and My Finds Pocket Query file uploaded on 11/23/09 is 646111.zip.
BTW, the county and state maps are a great feature.

(I haven’t had trouble with the Uncalculated process, but probably since no very new caches found recently.)
I did want to acknowledge that other fixes have been done recently. I had a cache in an error status because it was originally published in the wrong state so when I found it the county couldn’t be calculated. It had been an error for about 1 1/2 years. And then I noticed it was gone from the error list (and correctly calculated) tonight. Thanks for that fix.
I just noticed that the uncalculated counties list is building up. Looks like they haven’t been calculated since around the end of October or maybe the beginning of November.
Just wanted to say thanks for the maps and to also note that I have 3 states with uncalculated finds.I know there have been other issues lately and just want to Thank you for their quick repair.
I can confirm that the county-calculator appears not to be working. After several weeks of uploads, any cache initially flagged as uncalculated stays that way, which means that any newer caches never get assigned to counties.
Thanks for providing this site.
It looks like the county calculator is running again. (Thanks, Dave.)
Everyone agree?
I no longer have any uncalculated counties! Thanks for the fix!
Yes, my old uncalculated caches all were updated. With today’s upload I have one, but it’s brand new (I lost the FTF race) so I would expect it to start out uncalcuated. Thanks for fixing the problem.
Hi Dave,
“All Counties with Finds Uncalculated” feature appears to be working fine as of 12/13/09. Thanks for the fix!!!

I haven’t been able to upload my PQ to this site for months. When I submit the PQ it uploads for a while and then returns an error. Remembering back, it seems there was an issue with cachers who had dashes or special characters in their names. We had a “classic” uploader that we could use and that worked. Does anybody know how to get to the classic loader or is that a thing of the past? It is quite frustrating not to be able to use this website.
